Summer Flight Instruction (with daylight savings)

LARKS is now offering flight instruction for new LARKS members every Tuesday evening from about 4pm until dark (weather permitting). This instruction period is geared towards primary flight training for members who are new to the hobby.

You do not need an appointment on Tuesdays--- simply show up. Please try to have everything ready to go --- plane assembled, batteries charged, repairs made, etc.

There is no charge for flight instruction provided on Tuesday evenings. All that is required is that you are a Larks Member, an AMA Member, and complete a Release Form to give to your instructor prior to your first flight. Other arrangements may be made by contacting the instructor you choose to train with.

We are delighted to offer you several qualified instructors to choose from. Maybe more importantly than their flight qualifications is the great personality each instructor possesses. You will need to communicate while learning and it makes training much easier if you have an instructor that is easy to communicate with. Each of our instructors has their own area in the "Hangar" where you may contact them, communicate, schedule private lessons, and ask for advice in building or buying an aircraft, radio, etc. Please visit our Hangar and look for "Flight Instructors" for more detailed information.

For those that may want to try piloting an RC plane to see if this is a hobby is for you (you must complete a Intro Pilot Form for the AMA).

You do not have to be a Larks member or a member of the AMA to give it a try. Come out on a Tuesday evening and have one of our Intro-Pilot Instructors to introduce you to RC planes. You will use a club owned plane, we will provide the fuel, radios, field equipment, etc. and you get hands on flight training for up to three Tuesday afternoons at no charge to you of any kind

We do ask that you clean the plane after flying it.

If you desire to continue learning we ask that you join Larks and you must also join the AMA (total first time fees $208.00 = $100 Larks Membership, $50 Initiation Fee, $58 AMA). You may then continue learning and slowly decide what your first plane will be. The instructors will be happy to guide you at all times in this safe and friendly environment.
